Policies and Warranty

CUSTOM AIRCRAFT WINDOWS: The windshields and windows listed on this site are "Custom and Non-Standard" windows, and except where otherwise indicated, will not be supplied with a FAA-PMA tag. These windows will be manufactured in compliance with FAR 21.303 "Owner/Operator Produced Parts". An "Owner/Operator Produced Parts Form" will be provided and must be completed and submitted along with the window specifications, engineering data, and/or sample window in order for our company to proceed with the fabrication of the window order. A field approval FAA form 337 or STC will be required for installation in a certificated aircraft. We recommend that the form 337 be approved prior to proceeding with the fabrication of the window. Non PMA’d parts will be supplied with a letter of certification and any additional information which may be required by the FAA or their representative for approval.

As the windshields and windows on this site are all Custom and Non-Standard windows, they are payable in advance and cannot be returned, except for warranty issues as outlined below. 

WARRANTY: Our windshields and windows are warranted against defective materials and workmanship. The warranty is limited to the replacement of the defective parts. There is no allowance for labor costs incurred during installation and removal of a defective part. Prior to installation the protective coating should be peeled and the part inspected. After inspection the window may be recovered with the protective coating, which was removed, or recovered with a cling type plastic food wrap. We will not assume any liability for damages due to improper installation or any damage incurred during shipping. Our warranty does not cover cracking, crazing, scratches or breakage. Any Item shipped to us without proper authoriza­tion will be refused. Call for a return authorization number.

AOG SERVICE: AOG orders will receive expedited and priority processing, manufacturing and shipping. There will be a $50.00 AOG fee. This fee may be adjusted upward based on the number of parts ordered.

TINTS:  Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 23.775 states that, from the pilots back forward as seated in flight position, the windshield and windows must have a minimum light transmittance of 70%. The Green Tint (#2111) and Solar Gray Tint (#2515) have a minimum light transmittance of 72 to 75%. All type certified aircraft must comply with this regulation. Tints are not available for most pressurized aircraft outer pressure windows. The inner "scratch panel" windows may be tinted. Optional darker tints are available in gray and bronze where allowable and for any experimental aircraft.

All orders will be filled with clear windows unless the particular tint is specified. There will be an additional charge of 20% for all in-stock tints unless otherwise noted.

RETURNS: Except for Custom and Non-Standard Windows, as stated above, any item purchased from LP AERO PLASTICS may be returned for a FULL REFUND WITHIN 30 DAYS of the original shipment date. Items returned 31 to 60 days after the original shipment date will be refunded less a 20% restocking charge. All returned items are subject to inspection and must be as new, untrimmed, unmodified, and undamaged. All factory protective coatings must be in place and intact. Returned items must be shipped prepaid and insured, and have an LP AERO PLASTICS “RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER” written on the outside of the shipping contain­er next to the shipping label. Please call for return authorization. AFTER 60 DAYS ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.  

SHIPPING: All shipments are FOB shipping point sent the least expensive way, freight collect and COD unless otherwise specified. Air freight, motor freight, Parcel Post, Federal Express, DHL, and UPS are available.

EXPORTS: Each FAA-PMA approved window is supplied with an FAA-PMA identification tag and an FAA form 8130-3 tag FOR DOMESTIC USE ONLY -NOT FOR EXPORT. The 8130-3 tag for export must be requested at the time of order placement and there is an additional charge. Please contact our office for special rates on export services and crating.
